Dozens of high ranking party members accused of murder fled justice, local paper

London (KurdishMedia.com) 17 September 2008: The President of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, pursue prosecution of high ranking party members who are accused of murder, reported Kurdish Rozhnama daily on Wednesday.
The President of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, ordered both offices of Social Affairs affiliated to the PUK and KDP to provide the list of high ranking party members who are accused of murder and fled justice, reported Rozhnama.
According to the newspaper, a high number of people accused of murder fled justice to the areas under the control of the opposing party, accused PUK members fled to KDP area and vice versa.
Hamid Haji Ghali, of the PUK Social Affairs, stated to the newspaper his office prepared a list of 80 accused high ranking PUK and KDP members and handed the list over to the office of the President of Kurdistan.
It has been reported that many of the accused have high position in the KDP and PUK and there is pressure from public to achieve justice.
