London (KurdishMedia.com) 11 January 2009: The Movement for Democratic Change (Rawti Gorini Democracy) RGD, accuses Talabani, the president, of violation of the law with regard to the escape of a pilot who had participated in the Halabja bombing of 1988.

According to RAG’s statement, there is a request for bringing to justice all those who had hands in the escape or in freeing Tariq Muhammad Ramazan, a pilot who was supposed to be one of the defendants in the Halabja Trial. However, he has been disappeared as the dust on the roof.

With respect to the disappearance of this criminal pilot, in a statement, RGD accuses Jalal Talabani, the secretary general of PUK and the president of Iraq, for freeing the pilot in a bargain with some Arabic groups.

According to RGD’s statement: “In 16/03/ 2008, the news about criminal pilot, Tariq Muhamad Ramazan, who supervised the Halabja bombing, shocked the people of Kurdistan, especially those of Halablja, and resulted in waves of protest and demonstrations inside and outside Kurdistan.” The statement reveals that the criminal pilot was captured in Kirkuk by the city’s Asayish two years earlier and he was handed over to the Asayish forces in Suleimaniyeh in order to stay under arrest there until his trial by the court.

According to RDG’s statement, which is corroborated by some knowledgeable sources, freeing the criminal pilot was a result of a deal between Talabani and some Arabic groups in exchange for their support for Talabani’s re-election, which is declared to be a breach of justice and a clear violation of the law.

It is also stated that RDG calls all the members of PUK to put a limit for the unlimited power of Talabani.

This statement has been circulated, while both the Presidential office the general Asayish of Suleimaniyeh deny the allegations regarding Talabani’s involvement in freeing the aforementioned pilot.
