Lvin Magazine on 1st of August 2010 No 134 has published an interview with a PhD student, Irfan Qani’ Fard, of Harvard University. In his words, in one part of the interview, Fard provides his views on late Mullah Mustafa Barzani, the father of incumbent Massuad Barzani, president of KRG.

In the interview, Mr. Fard for the first time has revealed that Mullah Mustafa betrayed late Qazi Muhammed, the President of the Republic Of Kurdistan in 1946, which was established in Mahabad.

Khabat Newspaper, the daily official of KDP lead by Massaud Barzani the son of Mullah Mustafa, published a statement under the name of “youth group of defenders of the symbols and prosperity”

It is stated “We are asking all our people who are our friends in our struggle to make their voice heard and raise their hands against those who want to abuse the history of our leaders, like Qazi Muhammed and General Mullah Mustafa Barzani. Those who are responsible must be abused and insulted. We are here to sacrifice our lives against those who do not know the borders of his freedom and freedom of others.”

In the end of the statement, it has declared, “This day is the day of campaign to revenge and struggle (against those who have written things against Mullah Mustafa) and the day is waiting for the hot blooded youths and their strong hands. We declear that those people and groups (Lvin journalists and Qani Fard) either to apologise for Kurdistan’s sacred people or to give the price of their behaviors. We can’t wait any more.”

On Saturday Ahmed Mira, the editor in chief of Lvin Magazine, logged a legal complaint against Massuad Barzani, in a Sulaimani local court. Mira told KurdishMedia.com that “their lives are at serious risk and they seek legal methods to protect their Journalists as they have been threatened to death.”

“KDP should apologise for what they have written in their official newspaper Khabat Daily, as they have clearly stirred the public opinion against our journalists. And it is obvious that what is written in the statement is an effort to terrorise us,” Mira elaborated.

Kurdish Journalists Syndicate published a statement on Saturday and condemned Lvin’s interview with Qani’i Foaud. Regarding this statement, Mira told KurdishMedia.com, “We have reported many times that this syndicate is a hired political tool in the hands of the KDP. What we have written, is only a professional interview with a Kurdish historian. Any international organisation that is is concerned about freedom of speech and press should support our cause and condemn what the pro-KDP Kurdish syndicate has published. We supposed that they ask KDP to stop their bad words and threats against us not condemning us.”
